A little bit about the Victorian Era of British History…
It was the reign of Queen Victoria spanning from 1837-1901.
A period of romance and an emerging middle class sparked the demand for jewellery in the mass market. So it saw a lot of jewellery produced, like romantic rings with flowers, leaves and serpents which seemed to mirror the love Victoria and Albert had for each other. Until Albert’s death then black mourning jewellery became popular. There was also a love of cabochon stones with pearls or diamonds surrounding them. Ii was certainly a big era for the jewellery industry.
There’s nothing quite like getting a beautiful piece of jewellery as a gift, whether you buy it for yourself or someone gives it too, this ring will always be special. So spoil yourself or someone else…
